Why choose an all-season duvet?

Many of our customers experience more comfort, fewer instances of night sweats, and a deeper, undisturbed sleep when they switch to a duvet from Scandinavian Rest.

This is not just our experience. Sleep experts point out that temperature balance and good breathability are crucial for a good night's sleep. A duvet that is too heavy or retains heat can disrupt sleep and lead to frequent awakenings.

With the Airy duvet from Scandinavian Rest, you no longer need to switch between a summer and winter duvet. The duvet combines lightness, warmth, and good air circulation, so you can sleep comfortably all year round.

The duvet's insulation and breathable materials keep you warm without making you too hot. Your body maintains a comfortable temperature all night, so you sleep longer, deeper, and wake up refreshed.

Frequently asked questions about the gravity blanket

Your weighted blanket should generally weigh 10-12% of your body weight. You can use this chart to help you choose the correct weight:

Your weight The weight of the duvet
0 - 20 kg
3 kg Weighted blanket for children
20 kg - 55 kg 5 kg Weighted blanket
55 kg - 80 kg 7 kg Weighted blanket
80 kg + 9 kg Weighted blanket

Our adult weighted duvet measures 140x200 cm and is available in weights of 5, 7 and 9 kg. You can also get our 220 cm duvet in weights of 7 and 9 kg, which measures 140x220 cm.

Our weighted blanket can also be used for children. For this, we have a specific children's blanket that measures 100x140 cm and weighs 3 kg.

All of our duvets and covers are machine washable. They can all be washed at 60 degrees and spun at low speed. This way you can achieve optimal hygiene.

Yes! In fact, children are some of the people who achieve the best results when using weighted blankets, and the effect is incredibly well documented with them. The most important thing is that the child can lift the blanket himself. You can see our weighted blanket for kids!

Yes! Since the weight is distributed evenly over the entire body, pregnant women can also use the weighted blanket from ScandinavianRest. Many pregnant women experience great problems finding a comfortable sleeping position. Fortunately, a weighted blanket can contribute to a more restful and effective sleep. If you want to read more about pregnant women and the use of weighted blankets, you can do it here.

There is a wealth of research on both weighted blankets and the technique behind "Deep Pressure Touch Stimulation" (DPTS), which is known in Danish as "dyb søkke stykke stimulering". Here we have highlighted some of the studies that conclude the positive effect of weighted blankets on people.

Swedish sleep researcher Gaby Badre researched the use of weighted blankets with the aim of reducing insomnia. In this study, it was generally concluded that a weighted blanket had a positive effect on the participants' sleep. The participants particularly experienced that they found it easier to calm down and the study indicates that everyone had a sleep with less movement and more relaxation. (Source)

A master's thesis from Denmark concluded evidence for the effect of ball blankets in children with sensory integration problems. The study concludes that a ball blanket can contribute to a better night's sleep, mood and concentration. (Source)

In 2010, a study was published on the use of ball pillows to treat sleep problems. The study concluded that the use of ball pillows is highly relevant and effective, especially when it comes to falling asleep faster. In children with ADHD, the study concluded that the 20% of participants who previously had to spend over 30 minutes falling asleep were reduced to 0%. This means that all children with ADHD fell asleep in less than 30 minutes, simply by using a ball pillow. (Source)

A 2008 study investigated the therapeutic effect of deep tactile pressure stimulation through the use of a weighted blanket. The study found that of the 32 adult participants, 33% had less EDA when using it, 63% experienced less anxiety when using it, and 78% preferred the weighted blanket as a means of calming down.(Source)
