Wash your weighted blanket

If you take care of your Scandinavian weighted blanket, you can use it for many years to come. Here you will find general guidelines, washing tips, and maintenance advice for your weighted blanket.

Washing instructions

All of our duvets can be machine washed. They can all be washed at 60 degrees Celsius and spun at a low speed. The duvets can also be dry cleaned, but not with chemicals stronger than perchlorethylene. Do not use bleach.

Here are the washing instructions for our other products:

- Silk pillowcase: Can be hand-washed.

- Weighted throw: Can be washed at 30 degrees Celsius.

- Weighted throw fur: Can be washed at 30 degrees Celsius.

- Memory foam pillow: Can be washed at 60 degrees Celsius.

- Bedding set: Can be washed at 30 degrees Celsius.

Drying instructions

None of our products should be tumble-dried or ironed - therefore, we recommend drying them at room temperature or outdoors. Make sure to stretch the duvet in all directions when drying.

Freeze or wash

Although you can easily wash our duvet in the washing machine, you can also freeze it to eliminate all bacteria. You can do this by placing the duvet outside when the temperature is below freezing.

With or without duvet cover

Many people ask us if it's fine to use our weighted duvets with or without a duvet cover. The answer is yes! It depends on your preferences. Because it is easier to wash a cover than a duvet, we recommend using a cover, but the effect of the duvet itself is the same whether you use a cover or not.

When using ordinary covers, you may find that the weighted duvet moves around a bit inside the cover. That's why we have created a specially designed cover that can keep the duvet perfectly distributed within the cover.

Using the weighted blanket

You can use our weighted blanket however you like - there is no right or wrong way to use it. The effect comes from the duvet's weight, and it will always be present when using the duvet. Most of our customers use the duvet every single night, but some also use it as a tool to find calm on nights when it can be extra difficult to sleep.

Many also use the duvet or weighted throws on the sofa before going to bed.
